Steam Engines and Trains and People

Our town has a scenic railroad.  The Western Maryland Scenic Railroad.  My hubby and I love it.   A lot of other people love it too.  But after a while those of us who live here and see the steam train regularly can get a little "used" to it and take it for granted. Which I guess is normal.  But come down to the station on a weekend during the autumn excursions and you will see lines of people waiting to board the train that we locals take for granted.  

When the Engine 734 pulls into the station adults and children just stand and watch with amazing looks on their faces.   734 seems to be a living breathing entity.   It's truly amazing!  At least to me.

Two of my grandkids!!  Having a fun day riding on their little toys.  They are getting too big for them but they still ask when they visit if we can get them out and play.   They are on the little porch to the church next door to our house.  It was always an extended pouch for their mom, aunt and uncle to play on as well and the tradition continues.    These guys call it the interstate cause now there's a handicap ramp.    Such fun fun fun!!

Happy 4th of July

Our holidays are different now. Different that there are no kids at home to do things with. Different that I can sleep in and then we as a couple can do what we want. It's a strange feeling. Nice but strange. Today we slept a little later, went to the mall, bought some new shorts, visited the mother in law and went out to dinner Different. No picnic. No swimming. It's been a great day. Now for a relaxing evening at home and back to work tomorrow!!!
