New Jackson photos!

We had a great Labor Day weekend. John came home from Tennessee for a couple of days. We always enjoy his visits but they are never long enough but thank goodness for email, blogs, my space, and cell phones. We seem to always be in touch even through he lives about 700 miles from us!

Jackson got to meet his Uncle John! Here they are! I didn't get the top of John's head in this photo but I love the look on his face so I'm keeping it!

Aren't they handsome fellows?

Here's Aunt Lori and Jackson. She's a great babysitter.

We also moved Sara and Aaron and Jackson this weekend. They moved from their apartment to a 2 bedroom triplex. It's very nice. They have off street parking now!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. My thoughts and prayers have been with all those in the path of Gustav. I'm a closet meteorologist. I love the weather channel!

Guess who's 18! today! Lori!

Lori is 18 today! Happy Birthday Lori

She had a litte party on Friday night. Here she is with her friends Jessica & Laurie!

She wanted a Dairy Queen Ice Cream Cake. It was yummy!

Here's my post from last year! enjoy!

Today is my "baby's" 17th Birthday! Happy Birthday Lori.

She was born at 11:03 AM on Saturday, August 25, 1990. So today is the actual day of the week she was born on! I wonder how many times that happens in your lifetime. That you celebrate your birthday on the actual day your were born? How fun. It only took 2 hours for Lori to enter this world. She came out running and hasn't stopped yet! I'm exhausted! We arrived at the hospital at 9 am and she made her appearance at 11:03 AM. Quick! Paul & the doctor had to run down the hall getting their delivery room clothes on. I didn't have the pleasure of observing this as I was concentrating on something else! but it sounds hilarious the way Paul describes it.

Happy Birthday Lori! We love you! She'll start her senior year of high school this coming Monday. She's then thinking of being a missionary or a nurse. I'll keep you posted on that!

To celebrate her birthday she had a sleep over with two of her best buddies, Jessica & Laurie! They've had lots of fun and I think they were up most of the night laughing and goofing!

Here I am!

August has been a busy month! So I've taken a little time off from blogging. I've got lots of things to share and I'll be back this week!

So what's been going on?

Three of my bosses arrived here on August 15th! Graeme, Ian, & Sylvia. That means a busy busy time at work! Graeme left on the 22nd of August! He was here just a week but we had a busy week. He built trikes up and I tore them down and packed them! Busy busy! I think we sent out 25 trikes last week! That's GREAT! Ian & Sylvia will be here until the 3rd of September! They are just here for their holiday (or vacation to us Americans) so they won't be in the office much. They are the "owners" and are pretty much retired from the business but they are the "big bosses" and are the ones who hired me! So I've go to be on my toes while they are here! It's been nice seeing them. They haven't been here since 2003.

I've been sick!
Of course Graeme shows up with all this work to do and I get a cold! UGH! I made it though. With the help of pain reliever and Kleenex lotion tissues and lots of hot tea.

We have had Olympic fever here at our house! Did anyone else watch?

Lori and I watched every Michael Phelps race! Isn't he great! I loved Mark Spitz back in 1972 and had this poster on the back of my bed room door.

What can I say? I was 11! I showed the poster to Lori and she just rolled her eyes and said "yuck". I think I still have the poster in my attic. I'll have to get one of Michael Pheleps to go with it.

He's from Baltimore MD! So he's a local boy to us. His parents graduated from a high school in our county!

Watched the gymnastics too!

Anyone think these Chinese girls are 16? It was still fun to watch. I've been watching Olympic gymnastics since Olga in Munich in 1972. Remember this?

We also watched every match of the beach volleyball!

Gold medals for Misty & Carrie!

Lori turns 18 tomorrow, August 25th! She had some friends over on Friday to help celebrate.

She starts collage tomorrow! She's attending our local community collage. Good Luck Lori! What fun to start your very first day of collage on your birthday!

Jackson came by on Friday to wish Aunt Lori a Happy Birthday. I'm glad I was feeling better.

I have plenty of Bloomin' Tuesday and Wordless Wednesday photos to share so please check by this week! I promise I'll be here!

What's happening this week???

Sara, Aaron, and Jackson are moving to a nicer apartment and John will be here for Labor day Weekend. Hurrah!!!! I will have plenty to blog about!

He's not arrived yet!

No baby yet! Due date is tomorrow, June 22nd.

I still can't get the baby shower photos to load. I'll try again tomorrow.

No baby yet! But we did have a great baby shower!

No BABY yet!

We did have Sara's baby shower this past Saturday. I have pictures to share but for some reason Blogger won't load them. We had about 30 people at the baby shower/picnic. Sara received lots of nice things.

Sara had 3 false alarms last week. We were at the hospital about 3 hours last Monday, 2 hour on last Tuesday, and she went up on her own on Friday for about an hour. Hopefully the next time will be the "real" thing!

Check back for updates!

Of shopping & zippers!

During my two week blogging break I had a lot of fun spending time with my daughter's. One of the highlights was a Saturday shopping trip to Altoona, PA. Altoona is about one hour away from our town. Many people here shop there because of the bigger mall and a better selection of stores. As well as a Target, Kohls, a Micheals, and an AC Moore. I could go on and on! One of our main objectives was a white dress for Lori's Senior Class Dress up Day. Senior Dress Up Day is a tradition in our schools. The senior girls wear White Dresses and the senior boys wear white shirts. The white outfits set them apart from the rest of the students and there is senior luncheon. The white dress is a nice idea but I don't think anyone realizes how hard it is too find a white dress!

We found the "perfect" white dress after only 2 stores. It took a little longer to find the "right" shoes. Everything in shoes was either too casual or too dressy. We finally found them at Kohl's. ON SALE too!

The day before the dress up day, the zipper on Lori's "perfect" dress broke!

Panic!
Lori and I were both in a panic. After the shopping trip to another town four days before where were we going to find another "white" dress?? I have no talent for sewing so fixing it myself was out of the question. I called several friends and finally got the phone number for a new shop opening in our area. The nice lady there fixed the zipper for us and we could relax!

Relief!

Thank heaven for people who can sew!

She DID IT! & Where I've Been!!!!

Where have I been??? I took a little blogging break over the last two weeks! Why?

This is why:
She did it! Lori graduated last night from Allegany High School as part of the Class of 2008 with a total of 210 in her class!

Pomp & Circumstance!

Diploma in hand!!

Mom & Daughter at her graduation dinner!

The day is done and the graduate is tired!

The last 2 weeks have been fun as Lori finished up her high school days. The last 2 weeks of getting out of bed at 6:30 am to wake Lori up for school. The last 2 weeks of fighting the morning traffic to get her to school. The last 2 weeks of dodging the school buses trying to get other kids to school!

It's sad but happy all at the same time! I've been getting one of my three children up and ready for public school for the last 22 years. I've stood with them and waited for a countless number of buses! I've watched them as they walked to school! And I've transported them back and forth. I've loved every minute of those 22 years! All things come to an end even if the ending is bittersweet! Now it's time for the next chapter in our life - Grandchildren!

Here's the whole family at Lori's graduation dinner!

Sometimes "Someday" comes sooner then we expect!

That's right. I'm going to be a grandmother! Sara and Aaron are expecting their first child sometime around the end of June. We are all tickled pink or blue! We pray for a healthy baby!

"even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

Psalm 139:12-14

Lori's Senior Pictures

Our family has passed another milestone. Our youngest daughter, Lori, has had her senior pictures taken and we picked them up this week. Here she is:

She's a beauty if I don't say so myself. She cleans up pretty good!! Don't you think?

And finally we have a complete set of senior pictures to hang on our wall.
