Snow!

We had some snow this week and very frigid temps. The snow didn't last long so today we took a little drive about 20 minutes away to find some. We did.

Here are some horses we found in a field. It was cold and the wind was blowing but they didn't seem to mind.






Anyone for a ride on the rails to trails bike/hiking/walking trail?

My New Craft/Art Room

My new craft/art room is ready! We finished the painting on Saturday and Paul put the shelves up! I'm pretty much moved in but still need to organize and get rid of some stuff.



John gave my sister, my brother, and me each a copy of this photo of our DAD. It is from a photo from the 50's and was copied onto a canvas which makes it look like it is painted. Beautiful! The doll was Lori's but she didn't want it so I claimed it. She reminds me of Anne of Green Gables. The small photos are of each of my kids at 4 months of age. John, Sara, & Lori.

My books are finally back in their bookcase. They've been in the attic for a couple of years while the bookcase served as my craft center in my bedroom. I've gone through and kept my favorites only!

I Loved Captain Kangaroo!

I found this on another blog and just had to post it here. I loved Captain Kangaroo when I was little. This is so neat to be able to see it again. There are also several great commercials. I had several sets of Colorforms...Cinderella, Snow White, and more. And that's my Easy Bake Oven! Memories......

Books! Books! Books!

Lori & I went to our annual local book sale today. Here is the beautiful cover of one of the books that Lori found. East Lynne. I don't know the publishing date of this volume because the first several pages are missing and the book starts with Chapter 1. I've searched on Ebay and found several other editions of the book but none with this cover.

Change

Things have been changing at our house. Sara has a new apartment and is on her own for the first time. She is very happy and excited and we are excited for her but I miss her. Change isn't easy but we learn to live with it. Today, Pepper went to live with her. I'm glad because it will be company for Sara until Aaron gets home. We changed rooms around in the house and now Lori has the big room that was Sara's and I get the little room for a craft room. Right now I'm doing a 1000 piece puzzle. That will keep me busy for a little bit. I haven't posted in the new year because we have just been too busy with moving Sara. But now that is done and I seem to have a little more free time so I'll get busy. Ann
