Another fun weekend!

We went camping and biking again at Ohiopyle PA and had another fun time. Here are some photos of our trip.

Here is a view of the Youghiogheny River from the bike trail around 9 am with early morning fog.

The bike trail. That's our friends, Tim & Jeanette, biking up ahead of me and Paul.

We biked from Ohiopyle PA to Confluence PA. We ate lunch at this nice little diner, Sister's Cafe.

Here is the river later in the day around 3 pm. The fog has lifted and the humidity has set in.

Here is where we had our dinner around 6:30 pm. Ohiopyle house cafe.

I'll be posting some more photos I took over our weekend tomorrow. So check back soon!

Friday's Feast

Appetizer
On a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being highest) how much do enjoy watching sports on television?

Around #8! I like the Olympics the best. Ice skating and gymnatics. I also like Nascar. My husband and daugther like March Madness so I usually watch that with them. My daughter loves women's collage basketball too. I have no time for MLB or NBA!

Soup
If you could completely memorize any one work of fiction, which one would you pick?

I guess I would memorize my favorite book "The Shell Seekers". That way I could read it anytime I wanted!

Salad
What is your favorite breakfast food?

Cinnamon Pop Tarts! Love um!

Main Course
Name something fun you can do for less than $10.00.

I'd walk down the hill from my house and buy an ice cream cone for all my family. Chocolate of course.

Dessert
How long does it usually take you to fall asleep?

Around 15 minutes or so. I've been walking lately and that has helped me sleep much better the last several weeks.

A Beautiful Saturday in July!

Today was the first Saturday in several weeks in which Paul didn't have to work. So with the whole day ahead of us we started out with his school reunion. 2007 marks the 30th year of Paul's graduation from Mt. Savage School in Mt. Savage Maryland. This year is the 55th anniversary of the school and to celebrate the school hosted a school wide reunion. Paul enjoyed visiting with some old friends and then we took ourselves off to do some photography but first we stopped by Paul's school. Here he is in front of the place where he spent 7 years of his life.

We visited a church in the town and snapped a few photos. Doesn't this look like a lovely place to sit and wonder on the magnificence of God?

An archway looking out to the road of the cemetery. I think cemeteries are peaceful places.

After leaving Mt. Savage we went to Frostburg, Maryland to wait for the scenic train to arrive. While we were waiting I took a few snaps of the lovely flowers around the station.

Then I thought I would try my hand at some photos of the station. I think these turned out rather well.

Paul used Photoshop to make this one Black & White. Makes you feel like your in the 40's doesn't it?

Then the train arrived. Paul & I both like steam engines. There isn't anything quite as nostalgic as a steam train and nothing quite as powerful. It made the ground shake!

And filled the air with cinders and smoke. I ran for the cover of the station.

To finish our morning and afternoon out we had lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, Texas Grillhouse. The rest of the evening we are spending at home resting and enjoying our back deck.

7 Things that Rock! Meme

Lia at Art Junk Girl had a 7 things that rock Meme post today. She said "And if you are reading this...consider yourself tagged!" So here are my 7 things that ROCK!

1. Paper - I love paper for collage, scrapbooking, for just about anything. I love shopping for this paper. You can always find me in the scrapbooking aisle at any of our local stores. You can find some of the things I do with this paper on my art blog here.

2. Road trips with my hubby the Camera Totin Idiot! - I love getting away with just him, taking our cameras, getting in our truck and just going somewhere to take pictures or see the scenery as we drive by.

3. Rascal Flatts - They are my favorite group at the moment! Their music speaks to me right now. Several of their songs fit how I'm feeling at the moment!

4. Ice Tea - The most refreshing drink especially in the summer.

5. Tennessee - We are going to see our son John in August and I can't wait.

6. Rosamunde Pilcher - I just finished reading her novel The Shell Seekers and I loved it again. Her other books are just as great. They speak to my heart. I also need to add Cornwall as a favorite. I would love to visit there someday!

7. Thrift shops, yard sales, & flea markets - I love shopping for ephemera to use in my crafts. Old books and old magazines are my favorites. I just bought a bag full of books at the used book sale our local newspaper hosted. Fun Fun Fun!

Maggie Ann, Tracy, Paul, & Laurie & Chris you guys have been tagged! And anyone else reading this - like Lia said consider yourself tagged! Leave me a comment when you do your post so I can come and visit!

Cornwall - I could live here too!

I would love to visit Cornwall someday. I've told you I've been reading The Shell Seekers by Rosamunde Pilcher. Part of the book takes place in Cornwall and I've been doing some visiting via the internet to Cornwall. These are some lovely photos of the area that I found here.
