Happy New Year!

We celebrated the New Year downtown on our Cumberland Mall. It's always a fun event!

We had an exciting 2008. Our youngest, Lori, graduated from high school and started her first year at our local community college and got her driver's permit! Our first grandchild, Jackson, was born on June 28, 2008. They are the highlights of 2008 for us. Not sure what 2009 has in store for our family. Our prayers are for good health for relatives and our children and each other! We pray for our jobs to be safe in an unsure economy. That's a BIG prayer! We will celebrate our 30th anniversary in March of 2009 and also our 50th birthdays in November and December! Oh dear. Where did the time go? Oh well! Those are post for another day!

Happy New Year to everyone! How are you spending your day? We are watching Jackson for a little while. I'm cooking a ham for dinner. Lori and I will play some Racko or Rummy. Paul will watch football. I might even catch a nap! A nice relaxing day! Hope you have the same. It's back to work for us on Monday the 5th.

Happy New Year to you & your family :) I hope 2009 is a blessed, healthy & happy year for you all :)

Your New Year's eve sounds great! Bobby had to work @ his part-time job but was home by 8:30 PM. After he got home, we played w/Kendall for a bit before he went to bed~Justin was @ church w/his youth group for a lock-in. After we got Kendall to bed, Bobby watched football & I sat on the floor beside him & checked email on Justin's new laptop from Santa :)

By 10:30 PM, Bobby said he was going to bed because he was tired. I stayed up & watched Dick Clark's countdown to the New Year. At midnight, I called my Daddy, Justin, 2 of my aunts & one of my uncles to wish them all a New Year. After I finished talking to them all, I watched the countdown a little bit longer & then went to bed & snuggled w/my hubby :)

Today I cooked our traditional New Year's day meal: Homeade blackeyed peas, turnip greens (from the can), fried potatoes w/onions in them & cornbread. Will it make us rich for 2009, probably not, but it was sure tasty ;\

Happy 2009 again~hope it's a wonderful year for your entire family :)

Happy New Year Ann! I have to admit we went shopping NY's day and I loved every store we visited. We got some things put back for next Christmas now. Your celebration must have been fun New Year's Eve! I haven't had time to go over to our book site. I can't even remember the name of it just now! Oh, well its late.
