Autumn comes and Autumn leaves

Bittersweet October. The mellow, messy, leaf-kicking, perfect pause between the opposing miseries of summer and winter. ~Carol Bishop Hipps

so quietly
~John Bailey, "Autumn," a haiku year, 2001, as posted on oldgreypoet.com

October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came -
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.
~George Cooper, "October's Party"

Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all. ~Stanley Horowitz

Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns. ~George Eliot

Oh the G.Eliot quote is my favorite! What a lovely tribute to fall. God has made her clothing exquisite, hasn't he! I think this is one of the nicest we've had in a long time. The leaves are still hanging on some of the trees. Hope you are having lots of fun scrapbooking!
