John Wayne - The Quiet Man

John Wayne would have been 100 years old this past May and Paul & I have been having a John Wayne moviefest. He wrote about his favorite JW movies on his blog here and I was to do the same but with one thing and anther I didn't get the chance to make my list. So today I'm writing about my favorite JW movie. The Quiet Man. This movie is my favorite movie on any list. I love it and can watch it again and again. The characters are so life like and real to me. The love story between Sean & Mary Kate is beautiful. The scenary is breath taking and makes me want to go to Ireland someday. If you've never watched this movie do so. You won't regret it. It's a fun movie with a good story and no bad lanugage and in movies today that is pretty much unheard of.

**UPDATE**

I forgot to mention the movie also includes Maureen O'Hara. Another favorite of mine.

And since I'm to make a list of my favorite JW movies here it is:

1. The Quiet Man
2. She Wore a Yellow Ribbon
3. McClintock
4. El Dorado
5. Chisum
6. Big Jake
7. The Hellfighters
8. The Wings of Eagles
9. Rio Grande
10. Rooster Cogburn

Hi Ann, thanks for the 'link'...I enjoyed it...=). Do you get 'Dish' satellite too? I happen to know it was JW month! I don't think I've ever seen 'The Quiet Man'..it sounds good. I love those old movies with Maureen O'Hara too. Better run, its getting late, just thought I'd pop over for a minute. These are really nice pictures in your JW post...good job! =) Happy Sunday to you...

Hi Ann--once we got The Quiet Man from the library but the dvd wouldn't play...sigh.... I'll have to Netflix it. Oh and you forgot my favorite John Wayne movie--Island In The Sky. :) It's the only JW dvd we own and it's one I like to rewatch from time to time. Cool movie! Thanks for sharing....Debra
