Sometimes "Someday" comes sooner then we expect!

That's right. I'm going to be a grandmother! Sara and Aaron are expecting their first child sometime around the end of June. We are all tickled pink or blue! We pray for a healthy baby!

"even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

My Kitchen Shelf

I have a shelf in my kitchen where I display things I like. I always decorate it for fall and Thanksgiving, Christmas and winter. This past summer I decorated the shelf with a 40's theme.

In this photo you can see most of the shelf. The baby shoes are mine. The tea post is Lori's. The records are 33 1/2 LP's and were my mother's. The cookie cutter's were given to me by my mother in law.

Here's a close up of my baby shoes. The record is one of my favorites. Till then by The Mill's Brothers.

I found the radio on sale at Hobby Lobby summer of 2006. The Vacation Book was given to me in a swap with a Flickr friend names Mel. It is from 1941. The buttons are my grandmother's.

Thanks for stopping in and having a tour around my house!

I was tagged by the Camera Totin Idoit!

My hubby, the camera totin idoit, has tagged me for a questionnaire/survey. You can read his questionnaire here.

1. Who is your spouse/lover/significant other?
The camera totin idiot also known as the Filthy Beast!

2. How long have you been together?
Almost 29 years. We were married on March 13, 1979.

3. How long did you date?
About a year and a half.

4. How old is your spouse/lover/significant other?
He is older then me and that is all that matters. Days, years, doesn't matter what. He's just older. When he hits 50, I'll still be 49!

5. Who eats more?
He does unless you're looking when we are eating oreo's. Then I can out do him!

6. Who said “I love you” first?
He did. I think!

7. Who is taller?
He is taller then me. Always has been. Always will be.

8. Who sings better?
I guess I do. Neither one of us would make it on American Idol.

9. Who is smarter?
I am of course. I picked him didn't I?

10. Whose temper is worse?
In most situations, his. Because when I get mad everyone is surprised and it isn't as effective because they are all in shock that I got mad at them.

11. Who does the laundry?
Me, Me, Me. Most days.

12. Who takes out the trash?
Well, both sometimes and neither on occasion when the skunks are out and about the neighborhood.

13. Who sleeps on the right hand side of the bed?
He got this one all wrong. He sleeps on the right side and I sleep on the left.

14. Who pays the bills?
We both do our share!

15. Who is better with the computer?
He is better with programs and I think I'm better with the Internet stuff.

16. Who mows the lawn?
He does all the time and I'm glad. Lawnmowers scare me. I always think I'm going to loose my toes!

17. Who cooks dinner?
I do most days. He does when he buys me dinner out!

18. Who drives when you are together?
He does because he doesn't like my driving. I'm either too slow or too fast or not in the right lane. So I just let him do it. I will point out I've never had a speeding ticket and I've never been in a wreck that I caused!

19. Who pays when you go out?
He does most of the time but I like to buy lunch out on payday!

20. Who is most stubborn?
I think we both are.

21. Who is the first to admit when they are wrong?
Me probably more then him just because I hate being upset about stuff.

22. Whose parents do you see the most?
His.

23. Who kissed who first?
He kissed me and it was my very first kiss ever!

24. Who asked who out?
He asked me out. We went to a movie and when he took me home I said goodbye and ran like the house was on fire out of the car and in my house. He scared me! I feel bad now because I didn't say thanks for anything and didn't ask him in the house. Sorry sweetie!

25. Who proposed?
He did.

26. Who is more sensitive?
I am. But he has a soft side he rarely lets anyone see but I have seen it several times over these last 28 years.

27. Who has more friends?
I do. He's an only child and very independent in that way.

28. Who has more siblings?
I do. One sister and one brother. We have a good friend who he treats like the little sister he never had and I tell him that's why he never had siblings. He would have tormented them to death!

29. Who loses patience with the kids first?
He does most of the time but I do have my moments.

30. Who wears the pants in the family?
I want him to always be the man in our family.

Looking for Fall!

Paul & I took a road trip yesterday looking for fall. We didn't find a lot of color but we did find some beautiful sights.

She posed just like a professional! Isn't see a beauty!

My Beautiful Plates!

Aren't these plates beautiful? I love them so much I just had to share them. In the 70's I was a girl scout and one year for a fund raiser we sold these plates. My Mother bought the Lord's Prayer and Jesus standing at the door.

Then when I married Paul, my mother in law gave me this matching plate with The Last Supper.

And again in August I had a great find in the antique store! I found these two matching plates for $2 each. They are both a house blessing. All the plates hang in my kitchen over my sink. I see them everyday as I do my dishes and work in the kitchen. They remind me daily of our Lord and His blessings!

I have no idea if these plates all belong in the same set. There are only markings on two of the plates. The markings are "Made in Japan" and "For Decorative Use Only". I wonder if back all those years ago when my girl scout troop sold these plates if we sold all of these and if there were more designs. Anyone ever seen these before?

My Pyrex Bowls

When Paul and I first got married and set up housekeeping in 1980 my mother-in-law gave me these three pyrex bowls to use in my kitchen. I have loved them ever since and have used them for everything from making birthday cakes, pancakes, beating eggs. Everything!!

When we were visitng John in Tennessee this past August I found this yellow bowl at an antique store in Kadiz, KY for $25. It goes with the the set. I was so tickled. I put it in layway at the store and John just brought it to me on his recent visit.

Here is the complete set. Looks pretty good! I can't wait to use the yellow bowl for baking cookies and such. Being a bigger bowl then the large green one it should offer a little more room for mixing!

Here is my set before. Looks kind of sad without the yellow bowl now!

This is a picture of the "another" set of three pyrex bowls you can buy. They're okay but................

I think I'll keep my more "colorful" set! I like it.

I found a set of these four bowls at another antique store in Kadiz, KY. The price was $50. There are several sets on ebay too. Going price anywhere from $36 up. From some research I've done on the internet it seems these bowls are vintage 1940's. They are a great part of anyone's kitchen and the sentimental value I have for them makes mine PRICELESS!

I'll think I'll keep them for at least another 20 some years! LOL!!!!

What I've been watching from Netflex!

We've been watching two favorite tv shows the week. Wings & Lovejoy! Both are hilarisly funny. Lovejoy is a British comedy and I love British tv. Wings aired in the 90's.

Return to Nantucket Island for a fourth hilarious season of the high-flying hit comedy. Brian (Steven Weber) sinks Lowell's (Thomas Haden Church) boat, Joe (Timothy Daly) gets an elderly video clerk fired, Antonio (Tony Shalhoub) is stalked by a robber, and the gang performs "Phantom of the Oprah," all part of an average day's events at the single-plane Sandpiper Air.

Lovejoy (Ian McShane) is an antique dealer whose power as a "divvie" allows him to know intuitively just the right pieces to acquire. Curiously, nearly every object he buys seems to have some sort of intrigue attached to it -- betrayal, thievery or murder -- and Lovejoy spends much of his time solving the mysteries of his wares. Based on the novels by Jonathan Gash, the hit BBC show co-stars Chris Jury, Dudley Sutton and Phyllis Logan.

I've been tagged for What's in the middle name?

Linda from Grace Filled Moments has tagged me for...what's in a middle name?

You have to post these rules before you give the facts. Players, you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had. When you are tagged you need to write your own blogpost containing your own middle name game facts. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged and to read your blog.

My middle name is MARIE. I was named Marie by my mother. My brother and sister named me Ann. Although I've never been called Ann Marie. I have always been just called Ann but I have always loved my full name. I liked my middle name Marie so much I gave it to my oldest daughter, Sara Marie. I was always glad I had a little bit of the Virgin Mary's name in my name. Now I am supposed to list something relevant to me that goes with each letter of Marie. Here they are:

M - Marriage – I have been married to my husband Paul for 28½ years. So marriage has been the most important part of my life. We were married at the young age of 19. In all these years we have had good times, sad times, and bad times but we have always managed to get through them together and we have become stronger together because of them. We've raised three wonderful children together! They are our pride and joy. I love you Sweetie!

A - Animals – Since I was little a countless number of animals have been a part of my life. These animals have included dogs. Beauty, Tippy, Skipper, Henry, Brandy, Chip, Ginger, and Buddy are the dogs that have been in our family. Brandy was my dog when I was a teenager. She was sweet toy fox terrier. We played together and slept together. She lived for over 15 years and lived her final years as my sister special friend. Our family has always had cats too. Most of these cats went by the name kitty but three of the most special have been Pete, Hobbes, and Allie. Pete was my kittie for only a little while but he was a great companion. Paul was working out of town during the summer of 1995 and I had a broken foot for 7 weeks and Pete kept me company all that time. I still miss him. Two very special pets were two rabbits I had when I was a little girl. One was white and one was gray. I don’t remember the name of the white one but I remember when she died. I cried and cried. I can remember my sister carrying me inside our house and I was just wailing. Penelope was the other rabbit. She was gray. I’ve always loved the name Penelope but I never used it to name any other animal or child but later in my life my favorite character in my favorite novel is Penelope.

R - Relaxed - I am a very relaxed, comfortable person. I hate things that make me uncomfortable. Such as itchy clothes and shoes that hurt my feet! I love my blue jeans and tennis shoes! I like to relax at our house and have fun with my family. I love to read, watch tv, and do my crafts.

I - Inhibited - A better word for this would be timid. I'm a very shy and timid person in new situations. I'm not a forward person and I won't say Hi to you until you say Hi to me! I don't like going to new places alone. I was always shy in school and never raised my hand to answer a question even if I knew the answer. It has taken me a little while to get comfortable with leaving comments on blogs. But once I'm comfortable with a situation or a new person I'm not shy a bit. In fact I can be quite loud! None of my kids are inhibited. Lori doesn't have a shy bone in her body. So go figure!!!!!!!

E - Enthusiastic - I can get very excited about certain things. My family, a tv show, a new craft, a new food, scrapbooking, paper. I love reading, watching tv, doing my crafts such as Artist trading cards, working on my scrapbooks, finding new artist websites and seeing their work. I've been doing swaps over the past several months and have been excited about sending and receiving them in the mail. I had pen pals when I was a teen and now I feel like I have four or five new pen pals with the swaps I've done and the nice people I've meet on line. I have several tv shows that I don't miss. Lost and CSI are the most exciting. I can't wait until Lost is back on next year. I have several actors and their movies that I love to watch. Cary Grant is my #1 favorite actor. I get excited about his movies. Paul gave me my favorite CG movie for Christmas last year and it was the best present I think I received!

No I'm supposed to tag someone for every letter of Marie but I'm just going to tage 5 people and if you find your name here and want to participate feel free and please let me know and if you don't that's okay too!

Miss Flower - Laurie & Chris
Bean SScene - Clay Mom
Camera Totin Idiot - Paul
Creative Arts and Crafts Spot - ArtKat
artjunkgirl - Lia

For Mother's Everywhere

My cousin Mitzi sent me this link. This lady, Anita Renfroe, has figured out what a mom would say in a 24 hour period and she has condensed it to 2 minutes and 55 seconds. It is hilarious!!!! And TRUE!!!!!
